ಮಿಥಿಕ್‌ ಸೊಸೈಟಿ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯ

ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಅಂಗವೆನಿಸಿರುವ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯವು ರೆವರೆಂಡ್‌ ತಬಾರ್ಡ್‌ ಅವರ ಸ್ವ-ಸಂಗ್ರಹಣೆಯ ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳ ದೇಣಿಗೆಯಿಂದ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಯಿತು. ಆಗಿನ ರೆಸಿಡೆಂಟ್‌ ಸರ್‌ ಹ್ಯೂಗ್‌ ಡಾಲಿಯವರ ಹಿತಾಸಕ್ತಿ, ಉತ್ಸುಕತೆಯಿಂದಾಗಿ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಕಟ್ಟಡ ಹಾಗೂ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಮತ್ತು ಇತರೆ ಪ್ರಾಂತೀಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಟಣೆಗಳು ಸೇರ್ಪಡೆಗೊಳ್ಳುವಂತಾಯಿತು. ಮೈಸೂರು ಸೆಕ್ರೆಟರಿಯಟ್‌ ಲೈಬ್ರರಿಯನ್ನು ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರ್ಪಡೆಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ಪಟ್ನಾ ರಾಘವೇಂದ್ರರಾವ್‌, ಸರ್‌ ಹ್ಯೂಗ್‌ ಡಾಲಿ, ದಿವಾನ್‌ ಟಿ. ಆನಂದ ರಾವ್, ರೆಸಿಡೆಂಟ್‌ ಹೆಚ್‌. ವಿ. ಕಬ್‌, ಕೆ. ವಿ. ರಾಮಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಐಯಂಗಾರ್‌ ಮುಂತಾದವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿತ ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳನ್ನು ದೇಣಿಗೆ ರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀಡಿ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯದ ಸಂಗ್ರಹಣೆಯ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಗೆ ಪಾತ್ರರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

Daly Memorial Hall:

ಪ್ರಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಲವು ಭಾಗಗಳಿಂದ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹಣಕಾಸಿನ ದೇಣಿಗೆಯೂ ಬರಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿ ಕ್ರಮೇಣ ಇಂಡಾಲಜಿ, ಇತಿಹಾಸ, ತತ್ವಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ, ಧರ್ಮ, ಕಲೆ & ವಾಸ್ತುಶಿಲ್ಪ, ಮಾನವಿಕ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ವಿಷಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಗೆ ಪೂರಕವಾದ ಆಕರ ಗ್ರಂಥಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ನಿಯತಕಾಲಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸಲು ಆರಂಭವಾಯಿತು. ಇದು ಕಲ್ಕತ್ತದ ರಾಯಲ್‌ ಏಷಿಯಾಟಿಕ್‌ ಸೊಸೈಟಿಯ ಸದಸ್ಯಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ಪ್ರಕಟಣೆಯ ನಿಯತಕಾಲಿಕೆ, ಇತರೆ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳಿಂದ ಸಂಶೋಧನ ನಿಯತಕಾಲಿಕೆ, ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ವಿದ್ವಾಂಸರು, ಸಂಶೋಧಕರು, ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ವಿಷಯತಜ್ಞರ ಸಲಹೆ ಮೇರೆಗೆ ಅಗತ್ಯ ಆಕರ ಗ್ರಂಥಗಳನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ನಿಯತಕಾಲಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ತರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ಕೊಡುಗೆ ರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುವ ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳನ್ನು ಸೇರ್ಪಡೆಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿನ ಅಪರೂಪದ ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ನಿಯತಕಾಲಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಡಿಜಿಟೈಜ್‌ ಮಾಡಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಕಾರ್ಯ ಪ್ರಗತಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುತ್ತದೆ.

Sri. TagoreGurudev Rabindranath Visited The Mythic Society in the year 1919 and delivered lecture on Folk Religions in India.

Sri. Mahatama Gandhi Visited The Mythic Society in the year 1927 and delivered lecture on curse of untouchability.

Dr. C.V .Raman Noble laureate Eminent Scientist was for long period Honorary President of the Society.

Dr. Morris Travers Eminent Scholar was the first President of the Mythic Society and IISc, Director.

Father Tabard, the parish priest of St. Patrick church was its next President for long and he gave the slogan that ‘Mysorean must know Mysore better’ through the Society. Krishnaraja Odeyar IV and the royal family and Dewans like Sir M.V. showed active interest in its works, researches and publications including the Quarterly Journal of the Mythic Society, which is being published even now and is up-to-date (from 1909-2020, 111 Vols). All eminent scholars from Mysore like Sir C.V.Raman, Dr. Brajendranath Seal, Prof. Radha Kumud Mukherjee, J.M.Imam, Prof. Metcalfe, B. Puttaiya, Pandit Shivamurthy Shastry, R.Shama Shastry, Sir Mirza Ismail etc. were associated with the Society. It has its own building, Daly Memorial Hall, named after Resident Hugh Daly and built in 1917.
